To most, setting up a Google Ad Campaign's Ad Schedule is mostly an afterthought. They either have the ad schedule set to show 24/7, Monday - Friday or maybe only during business hours Monday - Friday. This is a missed opportunity! About 99% of campaigns I set up I set the ad schedule up for "All Days" in 4 hour increments. It looks something like this:
The end result is a breakdown of all 7 days of the week in 4 hour increments:
Monday 12:00am - 4:00am
Monday 4:00am - 8:00am
Monday 8:00am - 12:00PM
Monday 12:00pm - 4:00PM
Monday 4:00pm - 8:00pm
Monday 8:00pm - 12:00am
Tuesday 12:00am - 4:00am
Tuesday 4:00am - 8:00am
Tuesday 8:00am - 12:00PM
Tuesday 12:00pm - 4:00PM
Tuesday 4:00pm - 8:00pm
Tuesday 8:00pm - 12:00am
Etc.
You get the idea. This gives you more data in what days and what times of the day are generating the most conversions and which are just driving up cost with little to no conversions. If you're using Max Clicks Bid Strategy or Manual CPC Bid Strategy, you can make positive or negative bid adjustments like this to try and bring down the campaign's average cost per conversion:
If a certain 4 hour segment is really underperforming, it may make sense to just remove it from the campaign so your ad stops showing for that day and time period.
