The first job I ever had was bagging groceries part-time. I was 16 at the time. From there I got a full-time job mowing lawns by the time I was 18. I more or less dropped out of high school even though I had already been home schooling, but that was just an excuse to gradually stop all general studies. Instead I was obsessed with the internet, and being able to make money online from the comfort of my home, but that was not to come for some time.

I worked dead end job after dead end job, as you'd expect from a high school drop out. Gas stations, restaurants, loading UPS trucks, delivering pharmaceuticals, pedicabbing—you get the idea. I did whatever I could to pay the bills, just like most people. Sound familiar?

But here's what most people didn't see: What did I do when I got home from my "day job" most days? I came home and continued to learn digital marketing, coding and entrepreneurship. I eventually created my own blog about music I was passionate about, and at its peak it got 500 visitors a day from Google. I never was able to make much money from that blog, but I was able to leverage that experience and get my first digital marketing client.

At the time, I was a generalist. I did a little of everything, and looking back now, I barely knew what I was doing but I learned fast.

For a moment there, things were all good. I was doing exactly what I wanted to do and I was working from home making good money… but then I lost my one client. I had to go back to doing whatever I could to make ends meet. I drove a taxi for a bit and even worked at a Subway for one day. I wasn't fast enough at making sandwiches. Go figure!

This became my cycle. Fast forward a few years and I repeated this pattern over and over. Always only having one "client" at a time which was more or less a full-time job because I was handling all of their digital marketing and website needs.

And here's the trap nobody talks about: Only having one client is a precarious situation. If you lose them, it's much like losing your job. You have to go looking for another one and until then you have zero income. Not a great situation to be in, let me tell you.

It also doesn't give you much leverage so increasing your pay rate is difficult. They know you're their only client, and you don't want to lose them. Also, much like a job—it's too much like a job in fact—only I was technically a 1099 contractor so I didn't get healthcare or other benefits.

What's funny is that most consider jobs to be the secure option but these days they aren't. It's not like the 50s where people would go their whole career working for one company. Companies have no loyalty to their workforce and so the workforce has no loyalty to the company.

So where does that leave people like us? Fast forward another few years and I just finished working at an agency, still as a 1099 contractor. Still the same cycle. One client giving me full-time work with low pay and no benefits other than being able to work at home, which admittedly is a big perk.

I ended up working in-house locally for a managed service provider, helping them market random offers they wanted to push, until the pandemic came. I was laid off and had to scramble fast because I didn't qualify for unemployment for whatever reason.

That's when everything changed.

That's when I really started to find my stride as a freelance Google Ads specialist. You see, there's a lot of different services you can offer as a freelancer. Some have more potential for recurring revenue than others though. Web design and development for example—while it's possible to setup ongoing retainers with clients for this type of work, it's usually one and done. Then you need to go find another client.

But offering Google Ad Management services? That's different. Not only does it give you great revenue potential for one-and-done projects, but you're also more likely to get hired on for ongoing management, which means monthly retainers. This means your income is more stable and since you're specializing, you're able to help many clients.

Now all the sudden I wasn't repeating the same old cycle of just having one client and then having no client, on and on. There was strength in numbers. The more customers or clients I was able to serve, the more diverse my income was and with that comes a sense of stability I was never able to attain from a job, even though they're supposed to be the more stable option.

It hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows. Every path has tradeoffs. Even so, I built a comfortable work-from-home income, and it has grown year over year.

I'm not going to claim you're going to be a millionaire and not have to work hard, but if you're like me, all you really want is a path forward to get paid what you're worth and finally have somewhat of a work life balance, if that's even possible at all.

Imagine this: Not having to fill out applications and going through countless rounds of interviews. Having a proven freelance business plan that can help you to finally make a great living while also having the flexibility to work from home. Having multiple clients instead of just one—so you're never one email away from zero income. Imagine predictable retainers where clients need you every month, not just once.

That's exactly what I teach. The specific path is to specialize in Google Ads management and structure your offers for recurring retainers. Not one-and-done web builds that leave you scrambling for the next project, but ongoing optimization clients who need you month after month.

In my course, you'll learn how to choose the right niche, build a lean offer, set up the tracking and landing page fundamentals that actually drive results, price for value, and sign clients into monthly management contracts. You'll get the playbooks, templates, and processes I use so you can stop living client to client and build a diversified, stable book of business.

No applications. No interview loops. Just a practical path to a fair living from home that grows year over year.

Why would I give out this info? Well for starters, I sell the information as an incentive in itself, but also I'm not worried about competition. I know that a percentage of my students will actually end up being my clients. You're still in a scarcity mindset and that's not how this works. There's plenty of work to go around and sometimes the student becomes more successful than you to the point where they'd rather just hire you to do the work for them.
